Motor Power
Jun 07, 2023
The power of a motor usually refers to the output power, which is the power transmitted by the motor to the outside, usually expressed in watts (W). The output power is related to the speed and torque of the motor and can be calculated using the following formula:
Output power=torque * speed
Among them, the unit of torque is Newton meters (N · m), and the unit of speed is revolutions per minute (rpm). If the unit of torque is foot pounds (lb · ft), it needs to be converted to Newton meters, and the unit of speed can also be revolutions per second (rps), which needs to be converted according to the specific situation.
It should be noted that the rated power of a motor refers to the power that the motor can output during normal operation. In actual operation, appropriate power sources and loads should be selected based on the rated power of the motor to avoid problems such as overload or underload. At the same time, the insulation performance and temperature of the motor should be regularly checked, and all parts of the motor should be cleaned and lubricated in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation of the motor.
Selection of motor rated power
The principle of selecting rated power is that the selected rated power should meet the power and torque requirements of various stages of production machinery in drag (starting, speed regulation, braking, etc.), and on this basis, make full use of the motor.
