Water pumps are widely used in daily life and production, and now many water pumps are generally equipped with corresponding three-phase asynchronous motors for water pumps. What are the reasons for the burning of special motors for water pumps? To find out the reason for the burning of the pump motor, it is first necessary to clarify whether the motor is a mechanical fault or an electrical fault. Only after these two reasons can be found out, the subsequent maintenance can be carried out.


The actual use head is lower than the pump nameplate head too much overloaded start-up operation can cause damage to the motor; the pump works without water for too long, these are the reasons that may cause the motor to burn during use.


The head of the centrifugal pump is used to overcome the height and resistance in the work. The flow rate of the high head pump when working at the high head point is the flow rate at the design point. If the pump works at a low head, the outlet resistance of the pump will be reduced. At this time, the flow rate of the centrifugal pump will increase, and the motor will be overloaded. When it exceeds a certain level, the motor will burn out. For example, a pump with a lift of 50 meters and a flow rate of 50 cubic meters per hour, when its flow rate is 50 cubic meters per hour, when it feeds water at a height of 50 meters, and when it feeds water at a height of 40 meters, its height and resistance reduce its flow. It may reach more than 8090, then the water pump motor will be burned due to overload operation.


If the electrical fault is caused by the burning of the coil, the reason for the burning is mainly due to the high or low current. When the power supply voltage is too high or too low, it will also cause the coil to heat up and cause a short circuit, so it should be First check whether the voltage during operation is too different from the rated voltage.


The reasons for the short circuit of the motor current are as follows:


1. Electrical failure of the motor When the pump equipment is overloaded and the pump motor is in the state of rated current or over-rated current for a long time, attention should be paid, especially the starting current of the motor is three or five times the rated current, so try to reduce the start-up Loaded or full-load operation of the equipment (generally depends on the matching margin between the rated current of the motor and the normal operating current)


2. When the mechanical failure of the water pump causes the motor load to be too large, the current is too large and the coil is burned.


3. The pump motor works in a humid working environment. Before starting the motor, the ground insulation and phase-to-phase insulation of the coil should be checked. The insulation requirements for different voltage levels are also different. You can refer to the relevant national standards for fine repair and inspection. During the operation of the motor, attention should be paid to the waterproof, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion problems of the motor.


4, there is a problem with the heat dissipation of the water pump motor. Most of the general water pump motors use water-cooled casings. Today's large-scale water pump motors mostly use air-air heat exchangers and air-water heat exchangers for cooling. If the cooling water (air) is cut off, so that the pump motor coil cannot dissipate heat, it is possible to burn the coil.
