In order to ensure the normal operation of the motor, in addition to the normal use according to the operating procedures and attention to supervision and maintenance during operation, regular inspections should be carried out to do a good job in motor maintenance. In this way, some faults can be eliminated in time to prevent the occurrence of faults and ensure the safe and reliable operation of the motor. The interval of regular maintenance can be determined according to the use environment of the motor.

For the starting equipment of the motor, the contacts must also be wiped, and all wiring parts must be checked for burn marks. When there is enough dust outside the wiper, whether the grounding wire is in good condition in time.

Check and clean motor terminals. Check for loose or burnt connection screws in the junction box. Check screws for all fixing parts, including base screws, end cap screws, bearing cap screws, etc. Tighten loose nuts.

Insulation inspection. The insulating ability of insulating materials varies with the degree of dryness, so it is important to check the dryness of the motor windings. If the working environment of the motor is humid and there is corrosive gas in the working room, the electrical insulation will be damaged. The most common is a winding ground fault, where the insulation is damaged, causing a live part to collide with a metal part that shouldn't be live, such as an enclosure. The occurrence of this fault will not only affect the normal operation of the motor, but also endanger personal safety. Therefore, when using the motor, the insulation resistance should be checked frequently, and attention should be paid to check whether the grounding of the motor casing is reliable.

Clean the motor. Remove dust and sludge from the outside of the motor base in time. If the environment is dusty, it is best to clean it once a day. Check the drive, pulley or coupling for looseness, damage and secure installation. Whether the belt and its connecting buckle are in good condition.

The professional point is the maintenance of motor carbon brushes. During the operation of the motor, the wear of the carbon brush is a very important factor leading to the scrapping of the motor. Therefore, when using the motor, attention should be paid to the maintenance of the motor carbon brushes, that is to say, the new carbon brushes should be replaced regularly during use, so that the motor can be used more smoothly.

Another professional point is the maintenance and maintenance of cooling fans. During the operation of the motor, the problem of the motor making strange noises often occurs, mainly the cooling fan. During use, the dust on the cooling fan is not cleaned up in time, resulting in abnormal operation of the motor. Therefore, the cooling fan of the motor should be kept clean during the use of the motor.

Inspection and maintenance of bearings. Bearings should be cleaned after a period of use and replaced with grease or lubricating oil. The timing of cleaning and oil changes should depend on the operating conditions of the motor, the operating environment, the degree of cleanliness and the type of lubricant. Half the time should be cleaned every 3-6 months and the grease should be changed again. When the oil temperature is high, or the environmental condition is poor and the motor is dusty, it should be cleaned and replaced frequently.

In addition to regular maintenance of the motor according to the above items, the motor should be overhauled after one year of operation. The purpose of the overhaul is to carry out a comprehensive and thorough inspection and maintenance of the motor, supplement the missing and worn parts of the motor, thoroughly remove dust and dirt inside and outside the motor, check the insulation, clean the bearings and check their wear and tear. Find problems and deal with them in a timely manner.
