Starting Mode of Single-Phase Motor

The starting methods of 220V AC single-phase motors can be roughly divided into the following types:
First, when the motor is stationary, the centrifugal switch is turned on, and the starting capacitor participates in the starting work after being powered on. When the rotor speed reaches 70% to 80% of the rated value, the centrifugal switch will automatically jump off, and the starting capacitor completes the task and is disconnected. The starting winding is not involved in the operation, while the motor continues to operate with the operating winding coil.
In the second type, the operating capacitor is connected in series to the starting winding to participate in the operation. For a motor with a centrifugal switch, if the motor cannot be successfully started in a short time, the winding coils will soon burn out.
The third type, split phase starting, is assisted by an auxiliary starting winding, with a small starting torque. The operating rate remains approximately constant. Mainly used in electric fans, air conditioning fan motors, washing machines and other motors.
Forward and reverse control:
For wiring with positive and reverse rotation switches, the resistance values of the starting winding and the operating winding of this type of motor are usually the same, which means that the wire diameter and coil number of the starting winding and the operating winding of the motor are completely consistent. This type of motor is commonly used in washing machines. This forward and reverse control method is simple and does not require complex transfer switches.
Forward and reverse control, just switch 1-2 lines or 3-4 lines to complete the reverse.
Judging between starting and operating windings, the DC resistance of the starting winding is usually much larger than that of the operating winding, which can be measured using a multimeter. Generally, the DC resistance of the operating winding is a few ohms, while the DC resistance of the starting winding is from ten to dozens of ohms. Capacitance value: Dual value capacitor motor, with large starting capacitance and small operating capacitance, and a withstand voltage generally greater than 400V.
